How to get started?
We are happy to help you in wide range of problems related to microscopic image analysis. We
can provide online (e.g. by email, Skype) and on-site (currently only in Singapore) consultations
to discuss project details and expected outcomes. With these information and, ideally, a few
representative images and other data, we can daft a proposal for you.  You can evaluate the
proposal and decide if we are the right match for your research project.

Preferred Operating System: Microsoft Windows
Preferred programming languages: Java and C++ (.NET)
Open Source software libraries: All tools and solutions are implemented using open source software libraries for various tasks such as image processing, computer vision, machine learning, plotting charts, data storage and databases. The integration of different components enables flexible design of image analysis systems and rapid prototyping. In addition, projects do not require the acquisition of costly licenses for scientific software.

Image Analysis Tools: We can also help you use and customize open source and commercial software for image analysis. Examples include ImageJ (FIJI), CellProfiler, Imaris (Bitplane), Huygens Deconvolution and Definiens Developer.

Custom software tools for image analysis.
We design and implement image analysis workflows according to objectives and expected outputs of microscopic imaging experiments. The workflows are normally implemented as standalone applications running on single PCs. Customization is achieved through integration of dedicated user interfaces and data structures with modules for batch processing and library-derived functions such as file handling, image processing, segmentation, database management, statistics, charting, machine learning. Tailored pipelines complement existing infrastructure of image acquisition and processing tools.
Relational Databases and data storage.
Databases (e.g. MySQL) and/or dedicated file formats can integrate image metadata, biological context and processed (e.g. ROI descriptor) for faster and more flexible data interpretation.
Time-lapse image analysis.
We can help in annotation, tracking, quantification and video production of time-series datasets.

Statistics and graphical visualization of quantitative data.
Integrating routine statistical tests and charting (e.g. line, bar chart) into a custom systems can greatly enhance productivity. In contrast, exporting raw data and analyzing them external spreadsheet or statistics application can be very tedious and time-consuming.

Knowledge Engineering and Machine Learning.
Supervised learning can mimic human experts and help automating repetitive task such as segmentation and phenotypic classification (e.g. identification of cell cycle phase). We can help to develop and implement classifiers.

Design and Trouble shooting of wet-lab experiments.
